6-count Lindy Hop refers to a style of swing dance that incorporates a six-beat rhythm pattern (as opposed to the 8-count version), typically danced to faster tempos of swing or jazz music. This variation of Lindy Hop is characterized by its compact footwork, smooth transitions, and energetic movements. In a 6-count pattern, the lead and follow typically execute a series of steps that combine triple steps (two quick steps) and rock steps (a slower step). This makes the dance more approachable for beginners while still offering a lot of room for improvisation and expression.
